The true key to client retention and increasing customer loyalty is to know your customers -- inside and out. Using a little research to identify common threads and bringing it together uniquely can deliver a customer for life. Taking this philosophy to the next level is a lifetime customer that will make a 100 mile motorcycle ride with its preferred vendor, to benefit charity. R.W. Moore Equipment Company, a full-service John Deere equipment dealer, announces today that it will host their Fourth Annual Deere Run to Kernersville on Friday, June 6, 2008. This year’s event will once again benefit Hospice of Wake County.
“When we began to think about our clients’ interests, we discovered a common passion for motorcycles,” explains Dan Moore, president of R.W. Moore Equipment Company. “Therefore, we created an event that is centered on that common passion. This passion for riding, coupled with a unified desire to benefit Hospice of Wake County has led to our employees, vendors and customers having a fantastic day together.”
In years past, R.W. Moore Equipment Company quietly asked riders when registering if they would like to make a donation to Hospice and the company would match the total amount donated by the riders. Last year, the company began escalating its efforts by holding a 50/50 drawing in addition to the regular donation match to benefit Hospice of Wake County. The drawing was a huge success and will be held again this year.
On June 6, more than 160 riders are expected to make the 100 mile trek from Garner to Kernersville where they will have lunch and tour the Kernersville facility to view the manufacturing of excavation equipment. Beginning at 8 a.m., this full day event will include a complimentary breakfast at R.W. Moore. Arrival back to the Garner facility is estimated at 4 p.m. R.W. Moore also includes a complimentary gas stop each way for all riders.
“The intention of the motorcycle ride is to get to know one another better by showing our customers and employees that we appreciate their business and value the relationship,” Moore adds. The 2008 line-up of riders includes clients, new and established, employees from all six R.W. Moore locations and vendors who all share a passion for motorcycle riding and, for that matter, heavy equipment machinery.
“This event is a fun way to get our clients involved with R.W. Moore and to benefit a great local charity,” explains Moore.
Shelton’s Harley-Davidson, Team Powersports and Wake Technical Community College will also be in attendance to demo their respective products and services prior to the 9:30 a.m. departure time. Last year’s event gathered over 100 participants from all over the country. The 2007 ride showcased a wide array of motorcycles including choppers, cruisers, sport bikes and touring bikes.
A rain date is scheduled for June 13, 2008.
