The 16-campus University of North Carolina System (UNC)
The Challenge
The ease + flexibility offered by online learning led to increased competition for the University of North Carolina System. Offering130 online courses, certifications and degree programs across a 16 campus system was more than a little daunting for the potential online student. Research indicated that prospective students were enrolling with other online providers and for-profit universities that were more visible in the marketplace and easier to access.
The Solution
C+A developed a one-stop website portal for all online course, degree or certification inquiries for all 16 UNC System campuses. We launched an aggressive research phase to name the initiative, then developed a corporate identity, and tagline, and conceptualized several ad campaigns.
The Results
A modest online marketing effort generated more than 10,000 visitors to the newly launched website in less than six weeks. The site continued to see increased traffic with follow-up campaigns, nearly doubling unique visitors within six-week time periods.
